How drastically can an auto loan affect ones credit?

Well I messed up and my credit score is noW 480 but I recently got an autoloan I'm trying to get to 620 how long do you think that will take?

How drastically can an auto loan affect ones credit?
Make the payments on time for more than the minimum and the car loan should help your credit. Depending on what you did to hurt your credit it could take a while to go to 620, maybe 2 years, maybe 7. It really depends on what characteristics the company doing the score feels are important. How many credit cards do you have? 3 to 4 cards is a good number. Keep all the balances at 30% or less of the each card's' credit and those will help. If you have fewer than 3 cards and are denied for more try a store card... But if you can get a credit card a store credit card is worthless and limits your financing capabilities through that avenue (and they have high interest).
