I had bad credit from when I was younger. But I have been working on re-building my credit for the past 5 years.

It's also going to depend on the year of the vehicle, and what term you're looking to borrow on. Newer vehicles are considered better collateral with lenders, and therefore you'd get a lower rate. Also, you'd get a better rate with a shorter term.

Reply:You're probably not going to get and auto loan unless you are putting down a lot of money. I have Car Dealerships that are reps for my company to clean up credit and they have said that the guidelines from the bank have gotten very strict and you need a 720 score to get a loan and proof of income with a good debt ratio. Cleaning is up is easy. You can do this yourself. My company is inexpensive, $20 a month, but you can dispute all your derogatory items on your credit yourself. It does take a while and it is very time consuming. You need to write each bureau and list each item that is reported by just that bureau. Be careful not to list something that one bureau is not reporting . Sometimes not all the bureaus will report everything and you do not want to give them something they do not have. Just state that this was reported incorrectly or state not mine or never late depending on what it is. Keep disputing these until they fall off. If you need further help or a more clearer explanation, just send and email.
