I have had checking accounts now for about 10 ten years, but never at a credit union. I didn't know if there is a period of time that you should wait, since I just opened it, or go right for it.

It might really save you hassle to just get a car loan price on the web to check out what todays rates are. You might be pleasantly suprised. Also if your credit is not the best, a lot of them are more able to work with people.
