Use money from an Auto loan for personal items?

I wanted to get a personal loan, I've been reading a lot about them lately and how hard they are too get. (not so good credit) I read that auto loans are easier to get, so I'm wondering can I go for a auto loan but use the money for whatever I want as long as I am paying the monthly payments?

You could go to a title pawn. The interest rates are outrageous. The max loan amount would be their value of your vehicle.

A site I've used to compare quotes in the past ...

Good Luck.
Reply:It doesn't work that way. It's been a long time since I got a car loan, but you would have to give the bank all the information about the car, the dealership, etc. to qualify for the loan. And they would check into it, they wouldn't just take your word for it. And it's fraud.

Credit is tightening, and all loans are harder to get now, not just personal ones. Try applying for a personal loan at the bank where you have an account already. Call them and talk about it with a loan officer before you apply. If you already know your credit scores, they could give you an unofficial answer to let you know if you should apply. They may approve you if you have a good history with them, even if your scores are less than perfect. You may have a higher interest rate, but still be able to get the loan.
Reply:Once they loan you the money, it's your. but you have to pay it back. If your credit is bad, you don't want to get a loan unless you can pay it off.

You can do it. But they will ask for proof. Like the ad from craigslist or vehix, but if it is a private party deal, they will ask for something. My friend did that, but then she couldn't make the payments.

I have a lot of credit card debt, but I have great credit. I pay everything on time, and I have paid off two credit cards. But they only loans I can get are student loans.

I recommend that you don't do. Don't get yourself in trouble. Just find a better paying job or a side job.

What do you need that will make you get a personal loan.
Reply:You can't. An auto loan is a secured loan - it's secured by the car and the bank is listed as the lien holder on the title. You can't even get an auto loan without providing information on the specific car you are trying to purchase.

It should really save you hassle to just get an auto loan price online to check out what todays rates are. You might be totally suprised. Also if your credit is not so great, a lot of them are more willing to help people.

What I always tell folks is that an online quote at http://auto.lowratetoday.com is what I would do.

Reply:Often times when you get an auto loan you need a down payment and the loan does not go to you It goes to the dealership.
Reply:Do you own a car free and clear? Used car loans usually have high interest and fees.
