Auto loan?

can i get an auto loan if im in college and only 18 w/ no credit because i want a 15,000$ auto loan

Auto loan?
The only way you would realistically get approved would be to either have a co-signer, or a hefty down payment. Each lender uses a different formula when calculating an approval, so if you really want to try and purchase one, I would suggest going to a larger dealership %26lt;accompanied by an adult%26gt; which may have more resources than a small dealership.

You could try a buy-here, pay-here lot, however I would strongly suggest to avoid them Good luck and I hope this helps.
Reply:In most cases, "no". However, if you have a job making a minimum of $1500 gross income a month and you have approximately 20% down, there are some car manufacturers like Toyota that have first time buyers programs. If you don't have the job or downpayment, you will need someone who loves you like a parent or other relative to co-sign with you or be the main signer. Even with them on the loan though, you can be the only one on the title work in most cases. This may vary by state though.
Reply:When you need to get a new car, you do not need to take the loan that the dealer offers to you. While the loan may sometimes be a good deal - it is not necessarily the best. For you to save money, though, and get a better deal, simply follow the steps below

Reply:Without credit, you will find it difficult to impossible to get a loan on your own. Most people in your situation start by getting a family member to co-sign for them, who would only be responsible if you fail to make payments. This is a great way to begin a good credit history.
