However, long-term loans are not smart. First, the interest rates will be higher. Second, you will almost certainly be upside down on your loan for nearly the entire loan term, meaning you'll have trouble trading or selling anytime before the loan is paid off. Further, you are exposed to serious risks if your car is stolen or totaled because your insurance will only pay your car's market value, not what you owe on your loan.
